International Anti-imperialist Meeting
21-22 March 2009, Thessaloniki, Greece
21-22 March 2009, Thessaloniki, Greece
Joint Front of the People of the Balkans Against Imperialism
Ten years have passed from the barbaric bombardments of Yugoslavia by U.S. and European imperialists. The NATO killers massacred the people of Yugoslavia, poisoned the soil with ‘depleted’ uranium, and divided the country into weak protectorates, dooming them into a life of underdevelopment and poverty. Thus they enforced their economic, political and military domination over the Balkans as a whole.
This meeting isn’t going to be held that much about condemning the crime of the past. But mainly to draw the conclusions needed to face up today. Because people still face the same situation, the same dangers and enemies.
The bombs stopped being dropped in Yugoslavia but are being dropped in Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq, so has anything changed?
The intentions of the imperialists remain the same, the political re-conquest and re-colonialisation of the world. Fundamental rights of toiling masses being under attack by the capital. Condemning millions of people worldwide to death from hunger and diseases, polluting and destroying the planet's life resources.
The situation is becoming worst as time goes by. The crisis of the system sharpens all contradictions and leads to more and more reactionary directions, namely, the intensification of the exploitation of the toiling masses, as the only way out of the crisis. Inter-imperialist contradictions create more and more slaughterhouses for the people of the world.
Ten years after the same questions occur:
Developing the resistance of the Balkan people in order to build up a unified front of the Balkan people fighting against US-Nato dominion.
The reconstruction of peoples movement worldwide at the level of being able to defend employment, freedom, independence and their own lives against the criminal rage of the capitalist-imperial ist system.
Open Meeting: Saturday, 21 of March 2009, 18:30, Polytechnic School of Thessaloniki, Greece
