NEPAL: State repression in Nepal - 17 Members Of Student Organization RCPN Arrested By Police In Kathmandu - maximum solidarity

 Kathmandu, September 22, 2023: Police arrested 17 students today belonging to ANNISU-R, the student organization of the Mohan Baidya ‘Kiran’ led Revolutionary Communist Party of Nepal (RCPN), in front of Singha Durbar, a former palace now housing government offices in Kathmandu.

They were demonstrating this afternoon against the School Education Bill in front of Singha Durbar, the federal government secretariat complex, a prohibited zone for protest activities, said Kumodh Dhungel, Spokesperson at the Kathmandu District Police Range,.

The arrested students, including ANNISU-R coordinator Milan Rai, have now been taken to Singha Durbar Police Circle.
