Salute to Comrade Manoj — In Memory of Comrade Manoj, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Maoist)

On September 11, 2025, Comrade Manoj (Modem Bhakkrishna), member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), Secretary of the Odisha State Committee, and proletarian revolutionary fighter, heroically sacrificed his life in battle in the Gariaband area of Chhattisgarh. Together with nine fighters, he fell on the frontlines of the People’s War. Upon receiving this news, we in China feel profound grief and boundless indignation, and we pay our highest tribute to him!

We believe: the life of Comrade Manoj was one of fearless struggle for the New Democratic Revolution in India and for the cause of world proletarian emancipation. He held steadfast faith in Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, persisted in armed struggle amid bullets and fire for many years, braved countless hardships, and never wavered. He was not only an outstanding leader of the armed struggle of the Indian people, but also a shining fighter in the international communist movement. With his life, he proved how a true communist should devote everything to the revolutionary cause.

Just like in every autocratic country in the world, the Modi–Brahmin fascist regime in India relies on the machinery of the state to carry out bloody counter-revolutionary massacres, vainly attempting to extinguish the sparks of People’s War. But history has long proven that the blood of revolutionary martyrs will nourish the soil of struggle and ignite the fury of millions of people. The sacrifice of Comrade Manoj and the martyrs will not extinguish the People’s War — instead, it will make it burn even more fiercely.

As Chairman Mao pointed out: “All reactionaries are paper tigers.” Imperialism, the Indian reactionary ruling class, and their repressive machinery can never stop the footsteps of the oppressed people fighting for liberation. The struggle of the Indian people is an important part of the contemporary world revolutionary movement; it inspires all oppressed nations and classes worldwide and points out the correct path of resistance against imperialism and revisionism.

Though Comrade Manoj has fallen, his spirit will forever inspire the Indian people to continue forward, and it will also inspire revolutionaries around the world to devote themselves to struggle with even greater resolve.

We call upon all Marxist-Leninist-Maoists in China to study and propagate the glorious deeds of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), and to publicize the lives and great spirit of martyrs such as Comrade Charu Mazumdar, Comrade Ganapathy, and Comrade Basavaraj. All Marxist-Leninist-Maoists in China must demand of themselves higher standards, come from the masses and return to the masses, and strive to resolve the contradiction between scientific socialism in China and the mass movement.

Let us resolve: fear no sacrifice, overcome all difficulties, and fight for victory!
