Demonstration in Ravenna against "Operation Kagaar," the war against his own people that the fascist Modi is waging in India with the complicity of US/EU imperialism.
On January 27, Slai Cobas organized a sit-in in Ravenna's Porta Adriana district in support of an international delegation, including our union, that traveled to Brussels to protest in front of Parliament. The delegation, which includes the European Commission's Human Rights and Foreign Affairs Sections, called for a stand and intervention against the ongoing arrests and deportations of the indigenous Adivasi forest peoples in India.
Today, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with Modi to reach economic agreements that will result in increased human rights violations in India, the killings, arrests, and deportations of indigenous Adivasi peoples, and the fierce repression of opposition, with the Hindutva fascist Modi's goal of annihilating the people's war led by the Communist Party of India (Maoist).
From the international appeal: "As part of the Italian delegation, this initiative is part of a plan of further initiatives denouncing the genocide in Palestine and the false truce in Gaza, and the dramatic situation of siege and bombing of the Kurdish masses in Syria and Turkey, against imperialist and neocolonialist military interventions in Latin America and elsewhere around the world, against repression and freedom-killing decrees in Italy regarding security, and against the trials of the Palestine solidarity movement."
